Breast and Genetics
Dr.Magda Gomes, MD, PhD specialist in breast cancer risk assessment, hereditary cancer genetics, and women’s health. She works collaboratively with breast surgeons, plastic surgeons, genetic counselors as well as other cancer specialists to estimate level of risk and to review and implement options for surveillance, prevention and target therapy. P.I. and BRCA project in collaboration with Dr. Steven Narod, with important impact. She wants to expand the knowledge of the particular features of breast cancer in Brazil and integrate with the national and international collaborators, as well as a member of Clinical Cancer Genetics Community of Practice.
Genitourinary
Dr.Steven Yip, MD is a chief medical oncology resident at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, University of Calgary. He achieved an MSc in Health Research Methodology. He will begin his genitourinary prostate cancer fellowship under the supervision of Dr. Kim Chi at the BC Cancer Agency – Vancouver Cancer Centre & Prostate Cancer Centre – in July 2017.
Hematology
Dr. Christina Fraga, graduated from Fundação Faculdade Federal de Ciências Médicas de Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil, in 2006 and received her training in internal medicine at UFRGS, RS, Brazil. She was trained in hematology and Transfusion Medicine at the Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre, Brazil. Her clinical activities and research efforts are focused on hematologic malignancies working as a sub - investigator is several clinical trials. Dr. Fraga worked as a Medical advisor of public health regulation of the Municipal Public Health Bureau - Porto Alegre.
​​Presently she is a medical fellow of the Clinical Fellow Program in Leukemia/Bone Marrow Transplant of University of British Columbia, BC, Canada.
